Depends on whether he can stay healthy. If healthy, yes, he can play till 41 or 42 and get there in my opinion. It's gonna be very close though. I can say with confidence that I think he'll take out Mays, but his health will determine whether he hits 700 or not. At that point you have to figure he'll stick around to take out the Babe.

I am a huge Ken Griffey fan and would be the first one to say he will reach 700 if it is at all possible, but I don't see it. Age and a history of injuries is always the stopper of dreams and I am afraid this is what Griffey will be looking at before he can reach 700. If everything goes exactly his way he should get close but I believe 700 is out of reach for him. What an asset to the game he has been.

I think that he can do it. He is 37 this whole season, and should be a little over 600 hrs by the end of the year. Of coarse you have to worry about the injury bug, but he is showing now that if healthy, he can still pop off 40+ hrs. I think if he gets traded to an AL team, his chances will go up even more since he can DH.

regrettably, Griffey will turn 39 years previous this November and he would could average a minimum of 30 abode runs over the subsequent 3 seasons to get to seven hundred. together with his previous history of harm problems and the fact that he's slowing down offensively, i individually do no longer think of he can gain seven hundred. there is not any doubt in spite of if, that if Griffey have been healthful maximum of his profession, he would have broken Barry Bond's checklist!

Honestly, I think it's within the realm of possibility, but I think 660 is a more realistic number. Let's assume he hits 25 more home runs this year, which will put him at 607, and I'd say he could hit 53 over the next two seasons, accounting for his age wearing on him. That seems about the right number to me.

He's 37 years old, so I would say the odds are against him. That being said, I wish and hope so very much that he can make it. If it were not for the injuries and such, this man would be on the right at the heels of Bonds and would probably overtake the record.

He is actually not that old and has proven if he can stay healthy he can be productive. I think he can play 5 more good seasons. With that I think he can break 700.

Its a shame, had he stayed healthy he would be chasing Aaron's record. I think he will stay around long enough to at least get close to 700.

I think that if he starting filling his tank like Bonds does, he could do it in a heartbeat. He just has to remember to take his shots and be a good boy.
