He is probably being paroled for whatever reason; I find very difficult that someone get 20 years down to doing 1.

If he is being paroled then you are lucky because any mistake and he goes back to jail. Probably he did "rat" on his fellow partners in crime so probably he is more worried about hiding from them than thinking about you.

In any case, call the correctional officers, or arresting officers, convictions are public record and they HAVE to tell you why and under what conditions he is leaving jail; also ask for a restraining order if you think you might need it.

Federal sentencing is not "for 20 years." There is always a range. If 20 years was the top of the range, it depends on what the lower end of the range was to determine when he is eligible for release. Still sounds too early (just 1 year). Perhaps he got a new trial and is being released on bond pending that.

some one is full of it as there is no such thing for federal prisoners, either he got a new trial, or he didn't get the time you claim he did, as you have got to serve 85%of your time given in federal prison and if you screw up it is 100% unless they give you more time, UNICORE NEEDS SLAVES that is the prison industries , under some circumstances if yourat on enough people you can get a time cut , but not 20 years to one no matter who you rat on. in some states you can get out earlier if your crime was not violent, only.

Likely has to do with what portion of his sentence he was made to actually serve in prison versus amount he will serve on probation or parole. Then good time can be taken off of the time that he is actually serving in prison.

Because prison terms are complete BS. For one, If you get 20 years, that really only equates to 10 years. 1 day and 1 night, 12 hours each, each count for one full day served in prison.

There is a greqat chance that he has snitch on one of the big fishes that the police wanted so he got a lesser time.

I am guessing you are not happy about this. First off people should not go to jail for drugs. That is completely stupid. Drugs should be legal. We should be able to carry guns. So as far as I see it, that man should never have went to jail. I am glad he is getting out.

Bail? Good Behavior? The sentence was appealed? There could be several reasons for that.
