i have been looking at videos on internet and thought that you had to actively download them to use up your internet download limit. I have just been told that I am using up that limit just by looking at them. As my laptop is sharing internet connection with father's company computer, I am a bit worried what happens if I go over this download limit! Please Help!

As soon as you click on a link to a web page, any info downloaded, even the home page is part of your download limit.

Download is too general a term.

People believe that they have to actively download something for it to count. But simply by visiting a web page and clicking on links to different pages you are already downloading pictures, small animations and text even before you have got to videos or music or anything else.

depending on your download limit they use to say that 8 hours a day of surfing was what you are allowed regardless of what you are doing on the net. Downloading large files will also use up you limit quicker than just surfing.

As far as your bandwidth is concerned there is no difference between watching videos on line and downloading them - everything you see in a brwser has to be downloaded and played on your machine

If you exceed your bandwidth you usualy get a naster letter first
