There is an easy way to answer this. Go buy some banana chips and a real banana. Compare the two. The real banana is people with 70% water. The banana chips are people without. Which would you rather be?

You need to understand the properties of water. These properties are essential to human life. Here are just a few:
1) cohesive/adhesive
2) polar
3) high heat capacity
4) surface tension
4) hydrogen bonds to a lot of stuff

There are more, but these are just the stuff I can think off the top of my head

Because the body loses a lot of that water from sweating, breathing, etc. You need to replenish it frequently.

Picture a swimming pool that loses 20% of its water daily through evaporation.
