Maybe not, but Homer may sue! Fox broadcasting are famous for not having a sense of humour but Matt Groening has. So who knows. It wouldn't hurt to ask him!

I agree with the guy who says you probably want to ask Groening whether he'll view it as an infringement. Get a response in writing. Also, if he does want compensation, it may not cost so much to get it, and you may be able to pay with a small stock option, say 1 or 2 percent. That's definitely worth it to get the name.
