Well, I believe "global warming" (the correct term would be climate change) is both natural and human-made. There have been natural cycles of the earth, but living here in Canada it's quite scary. My grandparents remember when it used to get to be under minus 30 in the winters, being the normal. Last winter I think it only got to be minus 17, and not for a very long time. Our winters keep getting shorter, and my friend's dad works for an ice wine company, and she said they could only produce one bottle in the first few months. We didn't even have a white Christmas two years ago because it didn't snow a lot until after January! We had some flurries, but they never stayed on the ground. That was the first time I've ever seen that. We've also has record heat in the summer, especially 2005. I don't know what to believe anymore, but even if we do not cause this, the problems that are causing should be changed. I myself have breathing problems, and I want to see less pollution in the air :)

I am dreading the day when the desalinization of the North Atlantic causes the gulf stream to sink. Haven't you seen pictures of melting ice-caps? and the melting glaciers in Africa and Venezuela that have obviously disappeared. Soon, the North Pole, where the ice is thin, will turn into a Polar sea.

All this fresh melt-water from the ice, flows into the seas where it sinks the salty currents. When there is no more ice to deflect the sun from the planet, it will get hotter and drier.

The last time the gulf stream sank, Europe had weather like Siberia, and for a 1,000 years, there was a drought. Do you believe in global warming now?

Global climate is dynamic, meaning it is always cooling or warming.

Back in the Middle Ages wine grapes were grown as a crop in England. Then long about 1300 the CLIMATE cooled so much the wine grape industry died because the climate was so cold the grape vines died out!

Glaciers in the Alps advanced so much some Alpine villages were wiped out.

The Viking colonies in Greenland died out. The population of Iceland almost died out.

The Little Ice Age lasted well into the 19th century when the climate finally began it's current warming cylce.

The climate never warmed up enough to grow grapes in England again.

Global warming is not a matter of "belief". Global warming is just part of a cycle that has been going on for as long as the planet earth has been around.

To blame humans for the current warming cycle is the utmost of arrogance. Humans are too small and puny in the much grander scale of millions of years of global warming and cooling.

Humanity survived the Little Ice Age quite nicely. You are reading this. That means your ancestors survived the Little Ice Age.

Humanity will survive this current warming cycle.

yes I do. But believe it or not, the other day my family had dinner with this guy who words for nasa and his wife, and they said that about 70% of global warming isn't caused by humans on earth. I mean look at all of the other planets around us, they are all "warming up" to.

Yes, I think that it is a very serious problem. If measures are not taken now to prevent this crisis from getting worse, our great-grandchildren and all future generations will have to pay the price. It's almost scary enough not to want to have kids..

I believe we are receeding from an ice age. In 10,000 years everyone will be complaining about how it's getting colder. They'll be talking about global cooling and how we are all doing something wrong!
