Is the use of liberal by Hannity Limbaugh et al, like the use of the word Jew by Nazi radio propagandists?

I see some strinking similarities. The "liberal" is underminingg your country with a "liberal" conspiracy intending to ruin your children by providing moral decay, ruining the financial system, and attacking education with their "liberal" ways! Replace liberal with Jew and imagine this broadcasted from Munich in 1936. Very, very, scary.

I believe you make a good point yes.I truly believe they are very very dangerous.
I saw a troll here once asking if people agreed with a quote.It was a Hitler quote,the word Germans was replaced with Americans as was Germany by America.The quote basically said in times of war people who undermine the country,you know typical far right talk.
The majority of conservative posters applauded that quote,some even commented that the libs would never get it

A second hand story I read on some blog (language has been somewhat sanitized, but the intent has been kept intact:

"A couple years ago, I was playing basketball with the kid next door. We were just rough-housing and trash talking. He called me some bad names, and I responded. Then things got more heated up. He called my momma, to sugar coat it, a cheap woman of uncertain virtue, who uhh... plies her trade for cash. (ok, we were poor, so sometimes momma had to earn a few bucks to put food on the table, but she was honest)

I got really upset with him and said, "Oh yeah? Well why don't you just go home to yo' Liberal mama? I hear yo' momma's not just a Liberal, she's a Howard Dean Liberal!!"

Well, the kid just hauled off and slugged me.

When I got home and my momma saw the black eye, she asked what happened. When I told her I had called the neighbor kid's mom a Liberal, she slapped me on the other side of the face and said, 'Turning an occasional trick is nothing I'm proud of, but I have no other choice. My children gotta eat. However, people have the choice to not be a Liberal. Now, go back there and apologize. If you want to trash talk with your little neighbor friend, call his momma a skanky wh@re, but don't you ever call her a Liberal again, or you'll have two black eyes.'"

Yeah, I guess "Liberal" is kind of four-letter word these days.

Liberal is really not a race or religion, so it doesn't have quite the same ring. You are right about the generalized use of the term. The truth is however, that both Hannity and Limbaugh love liberals.

If it weren't for liberals they'd just be a couple of unemployed idiotic jerks instead of reaping zillions from the logically impaired.

Wow, I never thought of it that way, but I do see your point. As a liberal, I do not like many conservative policies, but I don't find myself hating conservatives and attacking them personally. The attacking of "liberals" implies a disgust for the people, not the politics. I do feel as though some of these conservative pundits believe the world would be better if people like me were "eradicated".

Yes, it is very similar. Identify a group of people as the cause of all the woes in the world, dehumanize them, then eliminate them.
People seem to quickly buy into such a situation just to focus hatred. Justifiable hatred sells big time. An example is Bible based hatred of gays.

i grow to be born 40 seven years in the past and that i think of they care very plenty. i'm no longer a Hannity fan. i think of Beck has an thrilling attitude it relatively is under expected. I even have listened to hurry considering that 1991 and he of course cares very much.

It is interesting that they lump an entire portion of the population with this word. Why do they do it? They do it because the base of people they are pandering too gets heated up by this word. Its us against them.

Which category do these fellows fall into? I don't think I have ever heard these guys talk about solutions. Its just hate all day long. However I can seldom stomach listening to them for more then 10 minutes.

They in no way use the term in that way. I have listened to Limbaugh off and on for over 10 years and he never has used liberal in that connotation. Either do Hannity (who on TV has a liberal co-host and brings liberals on his radio show as guests), Michael Savage, or Glen Beck. Liberals are the ones who use conservative as the "Jew" word of today. Basically saying the conservatives are the ones responsible for global warming and our ultimate death, the reason everyone hates us internationally, etc.

Unlike the jews, people aren't born liberals. Its a choice people make. Ethically it is ok for me to make fun of you for having a tattoo or a piercing, ect. However, I cannot ethically make fun of you for your skin color, ethnicity, ect. Cut them a break since they are making fun of a person's choice. Otherwise you will also be label a propagandists for what you spew about the right on here.
