Air
A colorless, odorless, tasteless, gaseous mixture, mainly nitrogen (approximately 78 percent) and oxygen (approximately 21 percent) with lesser amounts of argon, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, neon, helium, and other gases.
This mixture with varying amounts of moisture and particulate matter, enveloping the earth; the atmosphere.

Humans
Humans are composed of structures made up of the following elements: carbon (C), hydrogen (H), oxygen (O), nitrogen (N), phosphorous (P), sulfur (S). These 6 elements are required to make the four major macromolecules of biological life, ie. carbs (CHO), fats (largely CH, with small amounts of O), amino acids used to make protein (CHNOS), and nucleic acids to make DNA and RNA (hereditary and functional molecules for cell growth and maintenance made of CHONP).

In addition to the atoms listed above, humans need a wide variety of minerals and vitamins (used for cell communication, enzyme activity, bone structure, muscle function, etc, etc) like calcium (Ca)+2 (key component of bone, and found in blood, used to contract muscle, etc) and potassium (K)+2, magensium, iron (hemoglobin in blood where iron ions are nec. for oxygen transport from lungs to body tissue), zink (used in maintaining DNA structure)....

What is fascinating is that these different elements combine in so many ways, ie bone is structurally different from hair and 'flesh', yet composed of same elements just different amounts of each.

Water (H2O) concentration in humans is about 70%. This water is found largely inside our cells and in our blood stream. Needed to allow for nutrient and waste exchange throughout body cells

Ok on a lighter side. Humans can speak see hear touch and smell.
Air can do none of these things.

Ironically though without air humans could not live.

Air is a mixture of gases (roughly 80% nitrogen, 20% oxygen).

A human being is a mixture of many different elements and compounds.

However, the most important of these is DNA, a long, self-replicating molecule which codes for protein production. Air does not have this (or RNA, a similar compound) and therefore can never be a living entity in its own right.

Air is a gas. It doesn't have substance like humans do. Humans are solid and have definite shape and volume. Air does not. Air only holds the shape of the container its in (if applicable.)

Humans have the ability to think, feel, taste, etc. Air clearly does not. It has no mind - its just a combination of gases. Nothing more.

You and your mindless wandering juvenile questions, Dave.

No. A child did not ask this question. A child knows better.

You need to be able to tell when the child is asking a real question and when the child is just being silly. And this is a child just being silly.

And I am amazed at the number of people that are duped into trying to 'splain things to good old Dave.

Tell the child air is not human because air is what humans need to survive just like food is not human.

I think the kid might have misunderstood what he heard. It sounds like he was referring to the saying "To ERR is human, to forgive is divine." It is an old saying that basically means that when people do things wrong we should try hard to forgive them because all people make mistakes.

Given the infinite number of questions you could have come up with, and that is the best you can do? Wow.... hey bro, you may need to go out and purchase one of those little styrofoam helmets for yourself.

Technically, because it does not fall within the genus and species that we do. In fact, it can't fall into any categories of that nature because it is non-living.

air contains many type of gases like water vapor. humans are mostly of oxygen and carbon dioxide. they dont have water vapor and other gases.
