my working :

3^x = 29
x lg 3 = lg 29
x = lg29 / lg 3
x= 3.065

u r just too lazy to solve ur maths problem~

They have the exact answer above - especially #2 -but think about it intuitively -the question is asking 3 raised to what power would give you 29. That means three multiplied by itself how many times would equal 29. If you think about it then the answer is obvious from the multiple choice answers given.

Nate, are you learning any of this logs stuff?? C'mon!

1) Log both sides.

2) Move the exponent in front. x log 3 = log 29

3) Divide by log 3.

x = log 29/log 3

Since this is a multiple choice question, you can just plug in all the answers to see if they work.
This works very effectively when you don't have any idea what to do, especially on tests like the SAT and ACT

Using logs, take the log of both sides: log3^x = 29

x log 3 = 29

x = 29 / log3

then use your calclator
