Most toys these days are shoddily made and a total waste of money. Nothing is built to last. Can anyone help me find a company which sells toys which are built to last, preferably made of wood? Ive searched everywhere present for my Nephew and I want it to be more special than a flimsy bit of plastic which will get broken and end up in the bin within 2 weeks. I was thinking of something like a wooden garage, he'd love that.

Can anyone help?

Twoey Toys could be just what you're looking for http://www.twoeytoys.com/

They mainly sell to trade but will also sell to individual customers. Their website isn't the best one in the world but if you contact them by email or phone they're amazingly helpful and will bend over backwards for you. They came to my rescue 18 months ago when I was desperate to buy my Son a wooden garage for Xmas (you'd never have thought it would be so hard to find a simple basic wooden garage)

Anyway this is the garage I bought from them http://images.ciao.com/iuk/images/products/normal/414/Twoey_Toys_Wooden_Garage__5812414.gif It cost just short of £50 which included delivery. It may seem a little on the pricey side but it's made of very solid wood and build to last a lifetime. Well worth the money.

I had a toy shop a few years back and we used to order quality stuff from a company called Vilac in France; nowadays they would probably have a website

www.vilac.fr

The Germans make excellent wooden toys as well but i can't remember the suppliers name.

Contact Hamleys for info.
