the problem is Overheating
1. Try using your laptop on a less heat conducting sufcace, wood, metal, tabeltops, are good cloth, bedspreads, on your lap, all conduct a lot of heat and cause your laptop to overheat faster
2. you could get a fan replacment, which are hard to install, so id reccomend going to the store to get it installed
3. Cooling pad, This problem happened to me, so i got this cooling pad, now even when i dont turn the pad on i dont overheat, due to its extreamly heat resistant surface
heres the cooling pad link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834999409

I agree with those who think overheating, but look into anti-virus option as well. Also, my son decided it was worth a little money to buy a laptop cooler -- basically a tray that his Compaq laptop (AMD processor) sits on with extra fans, to blow on the bottom of the laptop. It's powered via USB cable plugged into the laptop.

It sounds like yours might be overheating...is the fan running on it? With the laptop off, try blowing out the dust that has accumulated in the heatsink/fan assembly.

This is for sure the batteries, this happened to me some months ago and that was the problem, if it is, it happened because you charge your computer before it asks for it, never charge you computer if its not in red, (low bat) or when it asks for charge, if you do, with time your batteries will get overload with charge memories (thats the term they used to explain me) and will not fully charge even if its says its 100% charged, and it gets ruin. Hope this helps.

It might be overheating or it may need more memory, try running a diagnostic, there should be a built in diagnostic, you will need to get into the BIOS to do that

See what temp your CPU is running at. If it overheats, it may be shutting down. Everest is a decent diagnostics software.

its probably overheating. are you blocking the vent? take off the back cover and use a can of air to remove any dust and dirt.

I think it is:
a.) overheated
b.) needs charged
Try charging it, and if that doesn't work, then give it a little break, like 25 minutes and see what happens.
