Despair or desperation surfaces when we feel sorrow for the self. Knowledge and wisdom do not arise out of that suffering. You may create a lesson to explain such suffering, but the suffering is unnecessary. I have been able to learn from others without have to experience the despair that they feel.

No, by reflecting on your past and today you can look at yourself and only yourself what is proper and what you must do in your life to be first liked by yourself then by others.
