I mean, usually it's some white person losing his job because some Black people demand he lose his job. This time, it's the Black man getting his just desserts.

Isn't it about time?

Yes, I understand that he didn't make a disparaging comment about whites. If he did, he wouldn't have even have been fired. He would have ended up on the cover of Ebony Magazine. My point is that a Black person got cut by the same sword of exaggeration that Imus got cut by. Personally, I'm a little happier because of it.

I dont know how i feel about the situation, beacause i dont know what REALLY happened, the story keeps changing. First it was a gay slur againt TR Knight, then it wasnt, then Isaiah was Mad, then he was Ok with it just sad, now hes thinking of Seuing..the dude needs to make up his flipping mind! But i do agree with you to a point, if the remark was valid, which im still unsure about. Its nice to see someone get in trouble for attacking gay people, especially when gay rights still arent protected. What would be the real test is for a case of reverse descrimination to finally hit the floor publically...shows like In living Color should have been prosicuted hundereds of times for racist slurs against white people, but reverse descrimination is still very ok in many situations, and it will take much longer for that to change, but this MIGHT be a step..but im still confused on what REALLY happened.

Thats bullcrap. Isaiah Washington getting fired from Greys Anatomy had no longer some thing by any means to do with him being BLACK. The shows author and govt producer Shonda Rhimes is likewise BLACK. Theres different black actors on the educate also. Isaiah Washington is completed of bullsh*t. He needs to get over himeself. Isaiah became fired reason behind his insensitive and illiberal HOMOPHOBIC comments in the route of T R Knight yet another actor on the educate whos gay in authentic existence. Isaiahs insensitive homophobic comments led to some anger and stress on the set and with the ABC community. His Homophobic comments also led to a large furror with the gay community. Isaiah added issues upon himself through mouthing off his vast mouth. He has no man or woman to blame yet himself

Black...white...it shouldn't matter. Is this the guy that was making disparaging remarks about gays? The studio has every right not to renew his contract. Maybe he needs to get knocked down a peg or two and realize that he isn't any better than anyone else.

I don't think that anyone should lose their job for something they say (other than things like murder threats), regardless of race. Isn't that what America is all about? I'm sure there was a lot more behind the story than we all know, so we should judge Knight or Washington to hastily.

Don't go there. So long as we can't legislate courtesy (and people who say derogatory things are being discourteous no matter what color they are and no matter who they direct their comments towards), people shouldn't be fired for expressing opinions. Shunned by their co-workers, perhaps, but this is a country that guarantees freedom of speech so everyone should have the right to express themselves even if the rest of us think they are showing ignorant bias in doing so. If we are going to allow personal freedoms, then we are going to have to be tolerant of ignorant behaviors and remember that "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me." To do otherwise will be periously close to establishing a police state where individuals are told what to do, say, think.

If they really wanted to fire him for what he said he would have been gone long ago. And in case you can't remember, it used to be that a black kid would get lynched and killed for whistling at a white woman. Isaiah Washington has another job now, so his "firing" isn't really that big of a deal.

Everyone REALLY needs to get over race for real. What are you talking about "its about time?" What you doing, keeping score on what race does what? How silly and juvenile. Comparing and contrasting, it doesn't matter, wrong is wrong.

Look, their race has nothing to do with it. If you do something wrong, you have consequences to your actions. Period. I don't give a rats a** what the person's race is. We all have to be held accountable for what we do and say.

Isaiah Washington now knows this.

I really don't think it's a case of "BLACK man loses his job." The fact is it's a HUMAN moral issue that was addressed. Yes, maybe they took it too far by firing him, but I don't think anything of the fact that he happens to be black and that it (him being black) had anything to do with him being fired. Like I said, it's a moral issue, not a color issue.
