I am using the Announcements and Link web parts in Sharepoint Designer 2007. How do I remove the "Add New Announcement" and "Add New Link" links? I do not want them shown unless the person browsing is an admin.

You need to set your security permissions by user groups within SharePoint. Depending on their privileges will dictate what they can and cannot do. You can customize their exact abilities within the enviorment as well. You can lock down web part controls in Central Administration as well. Remember that the ability to do anything in sharepoint is based on the end users role. Within Portal or WSS this remains true. Designer is not the place you want to set these settings at either. You need to use Site Collection administration for this.
