The parade itself is okayish, nothing any better than any other for sure. I keep going mostly because I like the other activities, the shopping and the social aspect of it. If they actually decided to not have the parade it wouldn't break my heart but there are a lot of people very into the tradition of it and the younger crowd seems to enjoy it, especially if it's their first. This year the parade here didn't even start until around 8:30 pm when most people had already gone home or to other parties. I don't think they are at all insulting, just a bit played out like all parades are. But as that is one of the few things it seems we can have even if just once a year I say keep having them. The only reason I see to stop having them is when we actually attain full equality.

I have enjoyed going to Pride. This will only be my 3rd year going, so I haven't gone enough to be over it. My first year, I got to see Pansy Division at the Pride Festival. And last year I rode on a float. Tomorrow is Houston's Pride and I'm sure I'll be pretty "been there, done that" but it'll be nice to see people. Houston has been trying to make their festival really good so that people can really make a day out of it since Houston's Pride parade is at night.

I'm with nycguy. My first few were really exciting, but goodness, how many floats can a person watch.....boring! I always loved to go to the festival in NYC, but they've cancelled it this year, so I won't be bothered going to NYC at all.

I used to like them at first but after a while they got rather boring (same old thing every year).
