I think it all depends on why they are buying if for her. If the scenario is that they are are interested in her single friends and offers to buy a round and she gets one by association than that is OK. If it was you buying it would signal that you are interested in other girls.
However if they are buying directly for her then there is a big issue, no guy puts up cash for drinks for the good of his health

A man buys a drink to show interest in a woman. A woman excepts the drink if she reciprocates that interest. Some women accept the drink regardless, to save money.
So really she shouldn't be accepting the drinks, because it sort of leads the guy on, but at the same time if her intent is to save money, not go home or exchange numbers, my husband would be fine with it. But under no circumstances should a married man buy a drink for another woman. That is expressing interest in the woman receiving the drink.
I guess they are similar scenarios, but it's worse for a married man to buy a drink for some random woman at a bar, than it is a married woman to accept one. It's all about intent.

This one got me thinking, and this is one of those things that is truly a double standard. My husband and I are out and someone buys me a drink it's no big deal, he doesn't care. But I would be hurt if he bought some random woman a drink. Most of my friends are the same way. Women have bought my husband drinks and I've never cared. Maybe it's because it only take 5 seconds to say thanks for the drink, and it's the other person showing interest not the spouse. When you buy a drink you have to take the time to order and by doing that you are showing you are interested in that person and hoping that when the say thank you, they will want more.

This is one of those very RARE instances when a double standard works in a woman's favor. I agree with your wife. I'm married and if a man offers to buy me a drink, I would accept and say thank you and then continue to talk to my girlfriends. Now if I sit there and engage in conversation, that is inappropriate. If my husband buys a woman a drink, that is way inappropriate. He's taking OUR money and spending it on another woman...for what? What does he hope to get out of it? When a man buys a woman a drink, it's a compliment and a hopeful chance of getting to know her. Now, if I bought another man a drink (which I would never do) then that would be equally inappropriate.

INo it is not okay for a married woman to accept drink from men. It is worse for a married man to buy a drink for a woman. In the "bar" scene guys by drinks for woman in order to strike up a convo. To, me there is no need to talk to other women if you're married. Another point is why would you want to go out with out your spouse. I always havea better time with him then without him :)

It is not ok for married women to accept drinks from other men at a bar. Your wife is leading men on. Sounds like she understands this too and doesn't care.

I agree with you, and it's a double standard. My wife is like yours, it's ok to accept the drink. However, I'm out of line buying them for women.
I told her she had 2 choices, go ahead and accept knowing I'll be buying drinks for other women, or we can both stop. She quit accepting drinks. :-)

You are right! When men buy women drinks they usually expect something in return. So your wife should not be excepting any.

Hey if she can take drinks from men, then why is it not ok for you to purchase for another woman. If neither of you are cheating and its all innocent flirting then not a problem.
