What you need to do is take 39 divided by 5. Since the number doesn't end in a zero or a five, I know it's not going to go in evenly, so I like to look at it this way....
5x6 = 30
5x7 = 35
5x8 = 40

Select the equation that give you a product as close to your numerator (the top number in the fraction) without going over. Well, 40 > 39, so your closest product would be 35, and thus your whole number has to be 7.

Now 39-35 = 4 , so the numerator of your fraction is 4.
The denominator is not going to change, so it's still 5. The fractional part of your answer is 4/5.

The mixed number is 7 4/5.
Hope you could follow my steps :)

See its easy 2 find.....

1.Divide 39 by 5
2.U will surely get Quotient as 7,remainder as 2 & 5 &39 r divisor & dividend respectively.
3. take 4 up,7 side-ways & 5 at bottom......

So, ur answer is 7-4/5 (seven and four-fifths)

Try doing your own homework. Either that or get ready for a career at McDonalds.
