Sounds good to me. Like the other indepenent leagues they should play good fundamental baseball. They are not all future big leaguers but expect well played games.

For the past four years, the Cape Cod Baseball League championship team has come from the East Division.

Every team in the East won at least 20 games in 2006, and no division has a streak of champions this long since the CCBL split into the East and West in 1988.

As always, the name of the game is pitching in the wood-bat league — proved once again by the deep staff of the 2006 champion Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.

After all, Y-D had the best team batting average in the East at a paltry .243 clip.

The Red Sox set a CCBL record with 20 saves in 2006, but manager Scott Pickler has had a difficult time finding pitchers to stick with the defending champs, perhaps leaving the division wide open.
