One of the main reasons that I will not be having children is that I am to selfish to do it.

I don't want to give up my comfy life to raise a child that may dissappoint me down the road anyway.

However, many people have children for selfish reasons. They do it to fulfilll some fantasy about how their lives should be, either taught to them by TV or caused by their genes.

One 'school' of philosophy claims that no action taken by a human is ever anything other than selfish. I agree with this school of thought...thus whether a person has kids or doesn't have kids, it is the result of selfishness.

Not having children is a personal choice nothing selfish about that. Each to his own. I have a child, my husband said i was selfish in wanting her, guess everyone has a different opinion on what it means to want or not want kids

Not having kids is extremely selfish...if you are the majority of the population.....I wont have kids.I think Im responsible, wise, smart, reasonable, and super intelligent. Most people only have kids cause its expected, they dont know what else to do in life, it will save their marriage, their best friend has one...times running out...There are too many people breeding that shouldnt be. YOU ALL NEED TO STOP! You are responsible for the world going to shiit.. Adopt a kid, do them a favour. Get over yourself. At least Angelina and Brad are doing something useful. Looking after OTHER PEOPLES KIDS!..If you choose not to have kids, good on you. Dont let the morons get you down.

Never try to please thre world or live up to its opinions. Not having children is a decision of the person(s) involved therein only. I realize in my case I would have died from boredom without my six daughters making my life hell on earth. I have gained much wisdom and maturity and understanding; I would have been a mental midget without experiencing what I have. I would not recommend raising six daughters (3 biological & 3 adapted) to the weak at heart. I could write a book but I am afraid it would set civilization back several thousand years.

It's not selfish. Who said that? Now say if you and your spouse agreed to have kids before you got married, and after marriage you changed your mind, THAT is selfish.

I missed it, I guess. No, not having kids is not selfish. If you don't want kids, then not having kids is the best thing. If you don't want kids, and you do have one, then child is the only one who suffers.
