much like economic analysts are required to disclose holdings in certain companies . . . I think it would be appropriate. What do you think?

For the sake of transparency political supporters should disclose their political contributions.

They already do disclose. Look it up. You will find names and address's of any who contribute to a political Party listed. I use these list's to avoid any business contact with those that contribute to the Republicans. In my small town, I avoid giving any of my money to a Republican owned business. Works for me well..
