My wife and I are having some issues. I wanted to do something romantic like a getaway. My budget is within $300, which isn't enough for hotel even. We have 2 kids, but they will be with their grandma for that weekend. Any ideas of some place really special around NJ (ofcourse it can be any other nearby state) for the weekend?

I would take her to the shore. I live in New Jersey and it really sucks, but the shore can be fun and romantic. Long Beach Island, Stone Harbor, and Avalon are all great if you aren't going to stay in a hotel.
