why do kids shoot each other so much nowadays?

i mean im only 24 and not trying to sound like the old mad who had to walk to school in the snow but really kids nowadays so quick to pick up a gun and are afraid to take a good ol @$$ whipping. only two weapons we had were our hands but now its crazy.

I think it is because their parents have not been strict enough with them. Too many parents want to be their kids' friend and not their parent.

Too much freedom...not enough discipline...
Kids in my area are out past midnight! I was never allowed to stay out after dark. Not when I was 10, 11, or 12 years old. How do the parents know what the kids are up to?
I read in the news paper last week that police have arrested an 8 year old boy for shooting his 10 year old next door neighbour...why?...apparently the 10 yr old pushed the 8 yr old earlier that day at school. The boy then went home, got his father's gun, walked to the next house and shot the boy. In broad daylight. In front of witnesses.
What is the world coming to???!!!???
Why does this boy even KNOW where his Dad's gun is???
Why did he have access to it???
HE IS 8 YEARS OLD ...for crying out loud.
This has to stop.

being a teenager and seeing how most of my friends act in school, its mostly because they crave attention from others and want to fit in, nowadays people shoot each other in order to gain recognize through their peers, but most of it has to do with their parents not sitting down with them and just asking "what's wrong?" we teenagers have a lot to deal with and it would be nice once in a while to have someone other than our friends filling our heads with advice
