Chris, You really need to be clear with your question. The Padres and the Red Sox have the best won/lost percentage in their respective leagues to this point in the season, but I am sure you would get some arguments as to either of them being the best team in their league. As to who might win, they are both good enough to beat the other on any given day. Boston has been playing well on the road this year (23-13) and San Diego is good at home (21-14) so it really should be a good series. Your prediction of two out of three for Boston would be about equal to flipping a coin. Georgie, how can you let him get away with saying the Red Sox are the best team in the American League?

Red Sox either sweep with a close game or they win 2/3 with one blow-out...I'm excited for the last pitching match-up...Beckett and Peavy that should be a good game.
But the NL is just not as good as the AL and the Sox are the best in the AL and the best in the league. So they should be good.

I say 2/3 for Red Sox, I agree even with Beckett going, PEavy is almost unhittable so far this year.
And to those who say the NL automatically sucks, the mediocre Rockies just won 2/3 vs the Red Sox and swept the Yankees. So they may not be as bad as everyone (including my self) thinks.

Padres - good pitching but low run production. If Sox get 4 or more runs per game they can win 2 of 3

RED SOX SWEEP!!!
The NL sucks pretty badly...how many years now has it been that the Padres win the division with a record below or barely above .500?
KC could easily take 2/3 from the Padres

What I think he meant was they both have the "best" record in their respective leagues, which is true. I think this is going to be a great series. The Sox should win tonight, but I have a feeling Wakefield loses tomorrow. Sunday's game is going to be a mano vs mano match! I am very excited to watch those pitchers go at it and see this Peavy (sp?) guy for the first time this year.

Dude, it's baseball. IF the Pads win 2/3 nobody will be surprised. The Orioles just took 2/3 from the Padres and nobody is surprised.

Sox 2/3. SOrry guys, but peavy is gonna own on sunday. As much as i love the sox i just cant see them beating peavy even with beckett opposing him. Shoulda made the trade in teh offseason like they were originally gonna do instead of the DIce-K bit.
