Oh yeah, my cats too, they think they own the house including me, my bed, my duvet, my pillow, my couch, my laptop etc. If only I could get them so far to start paying the bills too!

I believe that is the temperment of a boxer, to want constant attention. I have a Laborador Retriever that is much the same way. He thinks he owns the house too! He sleeps on the bed, even if we kick him off. He will sneak up in the night when we are asleep. He tries to walk ahead of me, everywhere, and he begs for food and attention! You must take gentle, but firm, control right away. If you are walking up the stairs or going out a door, be sure to go ahead of your dog. If he tries to get in ahead, push your way through first. Also, make him lie down and sit next to him with your arm over him, keeping him a bit still. Use a "firm" voice when commanding him, never yell, but never use a happy voice either. Tone is always the way dogs listen. Be the Alpha dog. By allowing this dog to have his own way, you are telling him that he is the big dog of the house. You must change that behavior right away. But, never teach him violence! Do not taunt the dog, or teach him to play rough. If all else fails, seek out a trainer. Good Luck!

Yeah, my kitties will often do just that. They just stare off into the distance, usually because of a noise or smell that defies normal human senses, but sometimes it seems they are just staring into the thin air. Some cultures believe that Cats (and sometimes Dogs) are able to sense the presence of spirits or "ghosts". These spirits are supposedly afraid of Cats, so your pet is probably trying to protect you by raising their head and giving these entities a "warning", you know, like "Don't come any closer!" But, not all spirits are evil or bad, so no need to get freaked out or anything. =P

Good Lord. My ex spoiled the dog and the two cats to death. We were constantly buying treats and toys for these animals, and yes, they did act like they owned the place. Every night I would find myself pinned down. I'd have my ex on one side, a golden retriever on the other side of me, a cat between my knees, and another cat with it's butt in my face or on my head. The worst of it was that every single one of them snored. I do miss those animals, but man they were a big pain in the butt.

Oh, yes.
I remember a cat our family had many years ago. Among other things, he would go & stand by the door when he wanted out. And - guess what - someone would always get up & let him out. If no one let him out, he'd slap at a house plant until someone did.
Yep, he had us well trained. LOL!

I have a two year old shitzu- jackrussell terrier and when she wants me to go to bed at night I have a tendency to stay up late because of pain. She will bring her dog bed into me and bark. Back and forth from the bedroom until I go to bed. The big bossy butt, I love her though so what can you do.

My 4 year old Alaskan Huskie/Wolf mix is spoiled! He sleeps wherever he wants (on the couch, in our doorways, on our beds). He can go out in the back yard when he wants, and scratches on the door when he wants to come in. We give him snacks whenever he wants (he is not fat). We groom him all the time. He has a huge basket full of dog toys. He is truly spoiled.
