I want to go out tonight on the pop and maybe for a nice meal...If I leave my 3 young children at home alone (babysitters can be soooo expensive!) and say for instance the house catches on fire or they get abducted....would you have any sympathy for me or donate money to my business?

For all your Mc Cann 'fans' out there, whats the difference?

I'm not asking you to defend the poor suffering family who are torn apart because they went out for a meal and left the kids 'home alone' just asking a simple question...WOULD YOU DONATE?

I would NEVER leave 3 young children unattended, alone in a hotel room whilst I swanned off and had a pi55 up and a meal and
2) If someone I knew had then I would be straight on the phone to child protection

All you sympathizers are forgetting the child involved but thinking "oh gosh that poor family"

Spare a thought for her and not her stupid parents - oh by the way my kids are 18, 13 and 9 and all are safe..but hey ... thats down to me and hubby making sure that they are PROTECTED & SAFE and that we put their needs and welfare first and acted like RESPONSIBLE parents .. we may not be doctors but we aren't selfish ego maniacs!

Oh yes - I have made mistakes and plenty of them but none that my kids would pay the price for

Very well put. You'd have done exactly the same as the McCanns so no doubt you could expect money, sympathy, sycophantic press coverage about your loss and not expect to face any questions about your neglect.

No I wouldn't donate, they were totally irresponsible to leave all three kids alone like that, but cos they are wealthy they get all this media attention and yet more money is donated when Maddy wouldn't be missing in the first place if it wasn't for them, they have had far too much publicity, if a child from a poor background went missing they would get scarcely any media attention, I think its disgraceful, people seem to have short attention pans if they don't realise they were negligent in the first place, they are far too calm about things if you ask me, if I were them I'd be a wreak, not letting off balloons, they seems to think money will get their daughter back, but if they'd used their money in the first place to have a childminder watch over their children, Maddy wouldn't be missing and possibly going through hell in the first place, I have no sympathy for the parents only wee Maddy and her siblings who could also have been kidnapped or even killed, they have more money than sense, personally something seems strange about the whole damn thing, money scam, possibly, its nothing new.

People, so called, parents in the UK commit daily abuse and neglect on their children and get away with it for months. Victoria Climbie, being one High Profile case I can (have to) remember. That was child abuse & neglect. In my HUMBLE opinion, what Kate & Gerry McCann did, was not abuse nor wilful neglect. It was naive & yes they made a terrible error of judgement and thought that Madeleine and the Twins would be safe. Portugal, after all, covers up its child abuse & other crime figures. Perhaps if the Portuguese were a bit more honest about those things & Tour Operators warned people of the dangers of Paedophiles in Portugal, Madeleine would never have been left alone. Praia da Luz is a tiny fishing village. You wouldn't imagine that ANY crime at all happens there, let alone this henious act. You are over playing the "neglect" card now. Just because you know that they are NOT GUILTY of the crimes they are accused. Desperate.

Thats what I really don't understand, its obviously wrong and a case of parental neglect to leave three toddlers, two of them even too young to talk and go out for a meal and drink, yet whenever someone quite rightly says that, they get shot down in flames by the McCann fans. Why the hostility, its very clear cut. Should three under four year olds be left alone? No. End of.

Well said, no I would not donate and any normal, sane, rational person would not donate either. The McCann fans are as dillusional as the McCanns themselves. When will Gerry and Kate (and the McCann fans for that matter) finally admit that they were wrong and that it is their fault and no-one elses, that Madeleine is missing and that they are indeed bad irresponsible parents?
