People should know he was a corporate lobbyist for companies like General Electric. Nothing but the same old crap.

Voting one way or the other on a particular vote really does not mean much when so much 'pork barrel' spending is attached to these bills.
For example? If you vote no on a project for increasing the minimum wage and there is an add on for paying violent prisoners the same amount while in prison or including illegal immigrants the same wage or hundreds of thousands to study the sexual habits of love bugs how would you vote?

I see nothing wrong with that list. I will be voting Fred Thompson in 2008, as will most Americans. I would like to see Thompson be moulded in President Bush's image and continue us down the path we are on.

You tell us to "educate ourselves" about Thompson.... Thanks for the abbreviated and overly simplified vote record! Makes me like him even more.
Want to talk about "absurd arguments as to why they would and would not vote for some candidates"?
What about, "It's about time we had a woman (black, Mormon, etc.) president." There will be more stupid/ignorant votes for other candidates in 08' than for Fred Thompson.
Your attention to him tells me that you see him as a threat.
P.S. WW III already happened...Remember the Cold War that Reagan ended?

Wow. He's a much better candidate than I thought! Thanks for showing me why I should support him - he apparently is conservative and knows what the Constitutional limits on the Federal government are.
Except for the video thing, the rest of these are votes that reflect my views, because they are in keeping with the Constitution.

I think many people who like Fred Thompson know more about him than his TV persona. Thanks too for this synopsis of some of his key votes. He's at the top of my list for President!

Sounds good to me.
Fred is cool. 1st, he worked his butt off as a retail clerk selling shoes to pay for his law degree. Then, he brought down a corrupt governor who was selling his pardons. Then, he worked to bring down Nixon. Then he ran for the Senate during an "emergency" election, and won re-election. When his daughter got sick, he withdrew from politics to care for her.
Regarding his legislation, he is an anti-federalist. It is consistent in his voting records, and when he broke with republicans, it was over federalism/anti-federalism issues.

I have looked at his past positions and those he is taking currently, and has made public thus far. I like him. So far I would say he is my candidate.
I like how he voted in your listing as well.

Thanks for the info. Planned on voting for him anyway, but now it's sealed. Heidi K got it right & so did most of the others answering.
