My son spit up at a very early stage to, all of the time. It could be a lot of things, the formula, maybe your giving him a little too much, that's what I often did. His formula could be sitting on a burp so make sure you really burp him well. Or he could have acid reflux, I know that sounds unusual, but it's true babies can get acid reflux too. Just go by trial and error, I told my pediatrician about my son spitting up and he said that was normal so eventually around two months old my son started feeling better, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

He might have reflux. My son has it and spit up a lot after every meal. He is now on Prilosec and doing great. It could be that or the milk based formula.
Try the following before you take him to the doctor:
1. after feeding, keep him sitting up for at least a half hour.
2. dont move him too much after feeding
3. keep his feedings as calm and relaxed as possible
4. burp him either every ounce or every 3-5 minutes.. whichever comes first
All of these should help. If they dont, then I would go to the doctor.
Good Luck with him! Hope it all goes well.

He may have acid reflux or it may have something to do with the formula.
Is he just relaxing after eating, or is he being carrying around and moved a lot? That could cause him to spit up as well.
Is he using liquid formula or powdered formula??
If he's using liquid then try switchin to the powder and don't move him a lot after he eats and if you don't see a change, definitely take him to the doctor!
Good Luck!

My daughter did this and was diagnosed with reflux. We had to put her on baby zantac on the advice of her dr. Sometimes she would choke on her formula when it came back up, which really scared us! I would definitely take her to the dr. to get her evaluated. Also, you may want to try Enfamil A.R., which my daughter was also on. It is a thicker formula (has added rice starch) which helps keep formula down and reduces spit up. Good luck!

some babies spit up a lot and it really is completely normal. I think the only thing to be of concern is whether he is getting enough nutrition to gain weight. They ususally do, amazingly, even when it seems they spit up nearly as much as they consume. If he's gaining weight and growing, you have nothing to worry about other than your carpets!! He could spit up for months and eventually it really does get everything a mess.

mine used to do it often because he has reflux.....The way I tried to get over it was to feed him more often but not more than 50mls....let him burp after each feec and do not change his nappy after feeding.....if his stomach does not get too full he will vomit less..
