Nobody can invent time. Rather time invent universe. Time means Kaal and Kaal is one of the many forms of the God.

The true answer is that 'time' does not really exist. Time is something we have fabricated to keep track of the year, month, day etc. (as we call them). There's nothing special about New Year - it's just something we invented. To the Earth and the Universe it's just another second (as we call it).

I think ti was Ben Franklin, because he had invented the clock and he needed something for it to measure, since he estimated there would be a real market for his invention, if he could only show a need for it.

No one invented time, and your very question is meaningless. Perhaps you mean to ask who were the first peoples to become aware of time.
