Trust is the first thing. If you don't trust the other then you don't have anything.Communication is also key. You have to be able to talk to the other one about any and everything. And all ways complement the other one never put them down or make them feel less of them self. Your partner should be your best friend because they are the one that will be by your side when you need them. And keep things fun go out do things that you did when you were dating. That's what we do and we have been together for 8 years. And will have to say i find a new reason to fall in love with him all over again everyday.

The TRUTH always! Communication, making your spouse your best friend. Sharing things in common AND having your own interests. Spending some time apart to have time for yourself. :) That's a big one. Compassion and love. Having enough money to pay the bills. Knowing when to stop an arguement and just agree to disagree. Aways kiss before going to sleep. :)

Love, affection, genuinely care for and give support to each other. Money plays some part too but you need not be filthy rich in order to enjoy happy life.

Not letting your spouse meet your main squeeze. Providing a decent vehicle, with insurance for the spouse. Not shooting at inlaws. Feed her dog, when she's not home. Don't bit*h about her, his family. Live far enough out, that if the spouse starts to itch, and you know, will, scratch that itch, you can disable the car and they can't get any extra. Stay out of famly problems like retarded relatives, they can't stay here. Keep a firm grip on the money. Workl them to death so they don't have the energy to run around. Buy them little gifts all the time to keep them off balance. Find out what they like, and make it necessary that they ask you before they can enjoy their favorite things. Make them go to church. Don't let them sleep in.
