The intrinsic problem is that there can be no purpose in life without God (see quote below):
“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (famous philosopher, mathematician, Nobel laureate and atheist)
You cannot find real purpose unless you start with your Creator otherwise, you will just be seeking some temporary feelings that will never satisfy. Feelings that are just a psychological crutch to get you through the days until you can die.

Do not worry, you will find your purpose in life by doing what you love to do. If you have compassion for what you do, that is what I call purpose in life. It took me about 50 years to find mine. I needed the time to learn a lot.

I think the problem with your question is the word "find" as if purpose was laying around someplace for you to discover. Why not create a purpose?

Your purpose in life is the grow. If you are learning and growing you are already fulfilling the purpose of your life.

our purpose in life is to one day die.
And within the time of birth to our death, we try and make the most of the situation, so that we can look our maker in the eyes and be proud of how we lived, for HIM.
