Now pry wiggle pull the trans away it only weighs 90 lbs but it will smash your fingers good leather gloves help. Warning clutch dust may contain asbestos particle mask might help You do have a new clutch kit get the flywheel off and have it reground. Whining is probably a lack of lubrication issue or a bad bearing. Shuddering is almost always a clutch issue but can be a bad counter shaft bearing binding up.

you have bad clutches and it is really low on gear oil. Install new gear box. You have to have enough space to work under the car. Make sure you have strong jack stands and a good quality floor jack, Get the car high enough off the ground to be able to have enough room to move around, The bell housing is bolted to the flywheel. You have to dis-connect the linkage and all wires going to the trans, you have to dis-connect the drive shaft located on the rear of the trans going to the rear end. then remove all bolts attached, be careful as it is very heavy. use the floor jack as leverage holding the trans in place while you lower it, once lowered use the jack to pull it out from under the car. reverse to install, make sure you install everything you removed otherwise you will have problems. Fill the gear box with the recommended gear oil until it starts to fall out of the filler hole, install the plug and tighten, tight. good luck!
