Ridiculous competition between each other, and allowing others to enhance their ability to not bond with each other.
Many blacks attend college, yet it seems one out of an entire family unit will attend today, instead of all the children looking forward to graduating high school and going to college.
Drugs in lower-class neighbors,
Abortion, and not getting married.
Family values, at one time, no matter what, black folks stuck together, and the family unit was stronger.
I have black friends, and these are a few things I hear, it is a painful situation, but curable in do time. I believe it.

Loser black 'leaders' like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan who do NOTHING but flame the fires of racism.
As a minority myself, I would have done everything within my legal rights to get these guys OUT of the national spotlight. All three are 110% completely useless.

Absent and uninvolved fathers are the primary problem. The lack of emphasis on the power of education also ranks high.
Third, I'd have to say is people who make incendiary comments in public forums, but have no real answers themselves.

They think education is a waste of time, prefer to join gangs instead. The boys and men pride themselves on becoming "baby daddies" but do nothing to support or nurture their children. The girls and women have no problem with this and continue to expect the taxpayer to raise their kids instead of the losers they have sex with. Blacks want the fast track to money and sell drugs or pimp their women out to get it. Then they end up in prison or kill each other over gang turfs and it's the "fault" of white people.

Why isn't racism an acceptable answer? What kind of obnoxious, arrogant limitation is that? Do you think that racism has magically disappeared? If so, PLEASE, educate me, when did that happen?
In addition to racism, I would say that a serious lack of quality leadership is a big problem facing the Black Community and has been since the death of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Ignorance. Blacks and Latinos think it's "not cool" to be smart; I know, I'm Latino. A lot of the women don't talk to me and a lot of the guys shun me because I am not ignorant, uneducated, or criminally-inclined like them. I talk about physics or literature and they scoff at me. Most blacks are the same way. You see one or two people trying to make a difference and what happens? They are shunned! You make fun of them and label them Oreos just like my former people labeled me a coconut (brown on the outside and white on the inside)...
Education is key! Learn, study and don't think that ignorance and being ghetto is cool. I grew up in Liberty City but I left to better myself. I am doing great considering most people in that area are dead now; my friends at least from high school. Life is about money and it's too short to waste trying to be cool by being ignorant.

The biggest problem is not taking responiblity for their lives.
Not listen to the "blacks are victims" preachers of Jackson and Sharpton.

The dehumanizing effect of welfare. We need to give people a safety net that does not require them to have children and not be married. We need a system that allows people to have dignity and honor.
