Attach a safety pin to one end, then you'll be able maneuver it through.

I assume the string is altogether out of the sweatpants? Get a large safety pin and pin or tie the end of the string to it. Then feed the pin through the opening and work it around the waist inch by inch with your fingers. Or you could use a like-sized hard object that you can tie or tape the string to.

take a safety pin and pin it to one end of the string.now take this pin and insert it into one of the holes in the waist, the pin makes it easy to hold on to.while holding the pin, pass it around the pants until u reach the other hole at the next end and u can take it out.there u have it! u can now remove the pin and u'll have ur waist string back in place.
an extra note, tie the 2 ends together when u're going to wash the pants so they wont come loose again.
if u need clearer instructions, feel free to hit me up :)

take a small peg tie the string to it, insert that into the whole and slowly work it around till it comes out the other end. If you can't find a peg small enough then use a pen. Find one that can have the back and front unscrewed, insert the string and tie it off. Then proceed as previously instructed. It should work. Done it quite alot.

You have to try and find one end and pull the string out.
Then put a big safety pin on one end and re thread it through the casing. This can be tricky but it will work for you.

A big safety pin or a tooth brush with a hole in the end. Pass the string through the hole, knot it and slide it through the sweatpants. And voila, you are in business again.

A word of advice...after you get the waistband string back in, via the LARGE safety pin method - tie a TRIPLE knot in both ends, then wash away secure in the knowledge you will never have to rethread another waistband string!

Best thing to do: get a LARGE safety pin, pin it through the string, then feed it through the opening. Keep on working it through the waistband.

Unbend a wire hanger and tie one end of the string to it. Feed the hanger through the waistband till the string comes out on the other end.

If you have a lot of patience you can attach a safety pin to one end and work it around the inside of the waist area. Lots of pulling and gathering.
