My period ended a week ago and I started a new pill pack. This week has been very very hectic for me and I have completely forgotten to take my birth control pills. (5 in a row) Now, today, I started my period again.

Is this just breakthrough bleeding or will I have a period now and then my "real" period again in 2 weeks? Should I discontinue taking the rest of the pills? Should I start a brand new pack?

I'm going to call the pharmacist in a few hours when they open but just want to know right now. I've been on the pill since I was 17 (I'm 24 now) and I've never missed a weeks worth of pills before.....Thanks for any help that you are able to give me!

The doc would probably tell you to just resume your normal dosage... but it will be 30 days before they adequately protect you from pregnancy again... use alternate protection in the meantime...

Call the OB/Gyn nurse at your clinic instead of the pharm...

What brand are you on???

Read the pamphlet that came with your pill pack, or google your brand pill "**your brand** missed pills".

What I do so I don't forget is to schedule on my cell phone calendar every day at 5pm "birth control pill" and take it when the alarm goes off.

I'm not a dr, but I'm guessing you will need to start a brand new pack. Just remember -- you will need to use an alternate form of protection for a month.
