I know I can turn on the news everyday and find someone else being accused of being "racist", do people just try to take the easy way out and blame it on race? I've said it before, I'll say it again: Not everything is racist.

I'll be racist for saying this, but should we get rid of affirmative action? How is it fair? Isn't it just reverse discrimination?

..let the slurs come.

I think we should get rid of affirmative action. The statistics do show that white people do make more and and have more jobs, percentage-wise, than other ethnicities, but it is no longer an issue of race, but an issue of education. Inner city public schools and suburban public schools aren't equal.

Good teachers don't want to teach the children in inner city schools because of the stigma of inner city kids. But families in the inner city have no choice, because the government doesn't allow people to choose which public school their child can attend.

Poorer families have no choice at all... they are unable to move into a better house, and they can't afford private schools.

The government needs to get their hands out of the schools and the ridiculous school district system they have set up. School districts condemn the poorer children to a substandard education, which makes it hard for those children to be successful.

What if every person sent their child to a public school of their choice, regardless of district, for free? What if an inner-city kid could take a bus to a suburban school? And then, the schools with more kids would get more tax money. If a school was bad, with bad teachers, then parents wouldn't send their child there, and the school would be shut down. As of now, a bad school can't be shut down, because each district is required to have a school.

That is why colleges have statistical requirements of some races and income brackets, to account for the unavailability of the same education. AP classes aren't offered everywhere. Honors classes can't be held for just one person. How would a smart person in the inner city stand out to a college?

I understand what you're saying, but I think it's becoming an issue of education and income, rather than an issue of race.
