It depends on how much responsibility the teenager has. If they're running around getting arrested and causing trouble then they should have less freedom. If they know how to act and are excelling in school, then more freedom should be given.

I think teenagers should be given a little more responsibility. This would help them for years later. I am an adult now but I was once a teenager. When i got to college i was thankful of the things that my mother did not allow me to do or go. When in college I saw students, fending for themselves, students with children trying to get by and messed up students all over. I was more matured as a student, managed my money better, my time and my resourcefulness. All because of the restrictions that my mom placed on me. Now as an adult. I am more focused and still more resourcefulness. I manage my money better than my friends and am well rounded. It may seem as if your parents are strict but they have your best interest in mind. Just wait until you grow up and I do say. ENJOY YOUR YOUTH. Bills are no joke and with everyhting that is going up being a child is the best thing. You don't have to deal with taxes or rising insurance rates or any of that.
Your youth will be over before you know it.

No, WRONG. They should have LESS freedom. Now before you blow up which you most likely already have hear me out. Kids are allowed all too much and or many thing today that WE NEVER would have even considered when I was a kid growing up. They can stay out so much later than kids were allowed when I was growing up. Kids have cell phone at such a young age. WHY? I mean really WHY? You see kids driving such nice luxury cars. Caddies, Mercedes, or just plain NEW. What's up with this? Oh one of my favorites, ALL NIGHT proms. You gotta be chitten me. The MESSAGE that WE are giving the KIDS is it is OK to stay out all night. So GO have a good time. OK, GO and Have a GOOD time. BUT HOME BY 1am on prom night. OK, MAYBE 2am. BUT NO LATER.

Against........I think that teenagers are given TOO much freedom. I mean honestly, a large percentage of teenagers have used alcohol at 14, you can be a teenage mother without being a teenager, and an alarming pervent of teens have admitted to unsafe sex practices and drug use. Granted it depends on the teen, however most teens aren't able to fight peer pressure and make educated desicions. It only takes one mistake to change/end a life and teens feel like they are invisible. In most cases, I feel like your average teen is trusted TOO much by their gaurdians, and this is dangerous........

They should be allowed more freedom to choose which book to read next!
Unfortunately the problem with society today is that teens have TOO MUCH freedom and parents have lost all power to control their kids. What we find is a society full of aggressive teens who cannot read and write properly, empowered teens that believe the world "owes them" and a loss of respect for elders.
I am a mum of 2 kids and I am very stirct with them in many areas of life. My aim is for them to appreciate what they have, expect nothing, and work hard for themselves.

This question is rather loaded as not every teenager behaves in the same way, some yes could do with more space but others need less.

teenagers need more freedom! they are bounded by rules and regulations that they want to rebel! with more freedom a teenager can develop a more secure sense of self. plus with more freedom comes more responsibility which in the end benefits
