cvq384- I would like to see NAMBLA destroyed. I believe if free speech and I am willing to fight for it. But I also believe there is a area of speech that should NOT be protected!

Wow. I did not know that. I am a liberal (a libertarian even) and that really makes me unhappy. I am all for equal rights for everybody but children cannot consent so I do not think that group is anything like anyone else fighting for rights. I am really surprised they defend them.

YA probably just has "nambla" flagged because it can be offensive and there are rules on yahoo to keep children safe online. They might not really think a thoughtful question about them can be asked.

The question really has two parts: first, how do I feel about the American Criminal Liberties Union and second, how do I feel about their support for the sickos at nambla.

Basically, the aclu stance on this issue makes me sick; it is dangerous to youth and civilization (but that's what it is supposed to be).

Free speech does *not* mean speech is absolutely unrestricted, criminal, or free of consequences.

First, the ACLU is a destructive communist-based organization that survives on large contributions from liberal foundations, some demented bigwigs (Hollywood, progressives, etc) and "winnings" from law suits (not much income but a great threat to small cities, etc?).

Their goal is the destruction of the traditional American way of life and their organization states that they will (paraphrased) defend a few traditional/conservative cases once in a while to protect their image.

I agree with cvq and others that it is fundamentally wrong to defend nambla and attack traditional orgs like the Boy Scouts.

If you haven't seen the satirical 'commercials' about the ACLU on the Fox 1/2 hour news hour, you should; they are *stinging* indictments.

I'd say I'm probably conservative - I usually feel that Rush Limbaugh is too liberal in many of his opinions (and maybe too Republican) - I might even say libertarian but that takes in too much territory like the left libertarians or the atheistic ones.

I am very liberal. The ACLU defends the party that has rights being infringed upon. Most conservative people do not like the ACLU, because they use the law and liberties handed down to us by our country to defend the rights of minorities and people that conservatives do not like. (Homosexuals, Illegal Aliens).

I hope this has helped.

And also to all that will answer this having previously read a forward that the ACLU does this, the ACLU does that, maybe you need to do a little more research on the ACLU before you come to your conclusions. Wonder who is sending the emails?
You know, Hitler and the Nazi's had to convince Germany that Jews were "sub-human" and wanted to eat their children before anyone really wanted to kill them? Maybe it would've did them some good to do some extra research.

Republicans and Democrats are headed by wealthy elected officials who work hard at getting richer while we all go poorer: I'm 'neutral' on political issues.

Time took it's toll on ACLU, after abortion got legalized and abject racial discrimination was corrected by Supreme Court rulings; the ACLU had no more battles to fight and win--they done it all pretty much.

ACLU yearned for courtroom war--and nearly folded up the biz. Then they began the radical approach of defending the sickest anti-American, atheistic, people and organizations. Made for great TV and talk show bookings.

And it's our fault that we allowed them to comeback. Ignore and DEFY the ACLU.

Something has to be VERY wrong with an organization that supports NAMBLA yet hounds and harasses the Boy Scouts.

Which groups' values would YOU like to see promoted?

I am conservative.

NAMBLA is the ACLU's main client now that the Communist Pary in America is mostly extinct. The ACLU is the legal action arm of the DNC which also has a homo pedophile agenda...do the math.

yes, the aclu is nothing other than a degenerate low-life group of pond scum, and so is the north american man-boy love assocciation.

this is not evolution changing mankind. this is not why these people are the way they are. it is possible that they are DE-evolving into some common pond scum.

i would FIGHT TO THE DEATH to protect my 6 children from THOSE KINDS of people.

I think that criminal people shouldn't have rights. They want to rape children and they shouldn't be defended. People who want to do harm to our society should have all rights removed.

Membership to the NAMBLA should be grounds for being arrested. They are there to promote rape of children, which is a criminal activity.

My political views are not on your list.

What are the North American Marlon Brando Look Alikes in trouble for? JK

I think that NAMBLA is full of sick f.#c.k.s. and every member should be shot. I'm for what the ACLU stands for some of the time but then they take on cases that are WTF are they thinking! This case is another case of what the f.*.c.k are they thinkinng.

My political party association is none of the above

I am conservative. This upsets me deeply. The ACLU, in attempting to be "fair" to everyone, has really stepped over the line this time.
