I am not sure it was the best, but it was better than now. I miss the music from that time.

In my opinion yes ... but then I was an 80's child so a little bias has crept in there. When you used to listen to the top 40 on a Sunday or watch TOTP on Thurs night you knew all the artists and all the songs .... nothing like today.
The songs themselves (especially the mid 80's) were pure class and the one-hit wonders at that time were actually 'wonders'
Remember Alphaville - Big In Japan
Matthew Wilder - Brake My Stride
Mental As Anything - Live It Up
Colonel Abrams - Trapped

Classics!!!

That's not to mention all the great solo artists and groups.
Bros, Duran Duran, The Jam, Rick Astley, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Erasure, Whitesnake, Spandau Ballet, Pet Shop Boys (the best years), etc etc etc !!!

In a lot of people's opinoins it was the worst. However my opinion , at any given time at least 90% is sh1te , the last big musical events were Baggy and Grunge around the beginning of the nineties (with a preference for the latter).

Depends what type of music you like, and what part of the 80s you are talking about. I still love the Jam, but they broke up at the beginning of the 80s, but also like the clash. Human league are great, depeche mode, duran duran, so yeah if you like your synth stuff and what have you, then it was a brilliant era. To be honest i dislike most of the rubbish thats churned out today (ironic as im 16 and most people my age seem to be influenced by present era music). I also love the klf who just squeeze in at 1989.

I'd say the 1960's was by far the best decade for pop music.

It was a brilliant era, when i hear pet shop boys, wham! or paul wellar & the jam it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy remembering my childhood with me & my sister with our rackets as guitars jumping all over the sofa (we were only 7 and 5!) while my mum was boogying & dusting to S-H-O-P-P-I-N-G or shout (to the top) happy times! But i loved the 90's as its where i really learned about music and was my teenage years-so i have to say the 90's!
