No. The adapter will work on USB 1.0/1.1 slot but you can't get better performance.
If you don't wanna buy a new computer, you may try USB card. Setup(just insert) this kind of card on one PCI slot, then you get more 4-6 USB 2.0 slots. Very easy!

No! A USB 2.0 adapter in USB1.0/1.1 slot will only work at USB 1.0/1.1 speed.
If your notebook/PC old enough and don't have a USB2.0 slot, you may concider to use a PCMCIA wireless adapter.

Of course not. You have USB 1.1, which is your lowest common denominator.
You can install USB 2 card into a PCI slot, but that would require you to open the PC.

No, but you can get a PCI add-in card that will have USB 2.0.
Your operating system will need to be WIN 98 or newer though.

no thats impossible....
coz the usb 2.0 adapter is gonna fit in a usb 1.0 card only.......
so u definitely cannot get usb 2.0 speed
but u can buy a usb 2.0 card ... they're pretty cheap...
