I agree with ^^^ up there, wax wax wax!
If its just for fun and you dont intend on ever doing it again or going full-fledged then you dont have to to all the crap i'ma list below. All i know i know from friends and what i've seen when i go to certain parts of town lol
IF you are planning to dress transgendered on more then on occasion:
Why not go the whole nine yards? Wax, tweeze, shave, wipe away! I dont suggest at home waxing because that can be quite messy. However try nair or veet. Corsets can help you get that femine look and the create them for cross-dressers (the website given below). Uhm, if you've never worn heels then try to start with wedge heels because the stability is better. Also practice walking in them on different surfaces before you go astride in public.
Your look will depend on if you want to actually try to play off looking like a girl or if you wanna do it Drag Queen style and go ALL OUT there baby! LoL
Natural woman look:
Make-up: Go for the make-up that gives you a natural look. Look up Kevyn Aucoin online, he's one of the greatest make-up artists and a true inspiration. Clothing thats flattering but not DRAMATIC
Drag Queen look:
Go for colors, anything bold and risque. From trashy to classy you can do it big. Do your homework- research baby!

First, take a shower and shave wax your legs, underarms, chest or use a hair removal cream, either way, make your body smooth. Second, if your has long hair, style it, curl it, get highlights & get hair extensions. Third, do your nails, get a manicure and a pedicure, get a french manicure. Forth, get a pair of realistic breast forms and glue them to your chest, give yourself a nice D-cup. And now for the make-up. Make sure you pluck your eyebrows into a nice feminine arch before you apply foundation and powder, plus blush eyeliner, lots of mascara on those new eyelashes and a nice ruby red lipstick. Now it's time to dress-up...
Dress in a black lace bra, garter belt, g-string and fishnet stockings. A red knit mini-dress and a pair of 5" red stiletto heels will make your look very sexy, then all you need is a pair of earrings, bracletts, necklace, some perfume and a purse and you're ready to be one of the girls...

If you're really hairy yes wax. As far as clothes it will depend on your style. What kind of clothes are you into? Shop online and have things delivered or go to a store that sells your style.
For starters pants and shorts and cute tops would be easy. Dresses and skirts would be the next level.

If your are really looking to be outrageous, Glitter is the way to go. if you are wanting to actually look like a real woman and not a dragqueen, then go for nice fitted jeans, nothing that is overly small or too big. and a cute baby t or even a plain tank top or tube top. and as for waxing. it all depends on how seriously you are taking this! if you you really want to be a woman, then definately the hair should go. but if you are doing this for shits and giggles. leave the hair, who cares!

Definitely something to cover your legs (or shave them, but that might be going overboard...) . Change your hair style into something a girl would have- if you have short hair, get a girl spike look or something. Go to a store that girls consider "stylish"- aeropostale or wet seal. get some of their jeans- skinny, but not too skinny. Too skinny will show your boyish legs, and you don't want that. Get a sweatshirt there too, and some shirts. T-shirts are fine- you don't want to feel uncomfortable. Just remember- have fun with it. any girl clothes will work, but try not to show your muscular legs- it'll ruin the look.
