For me Nod32 is the best. It blocks off not only viruses and worms but also spywares and adwares as well. Plus it's so light on the system you won't even notice it's there.

My sister got infected with spywares, adwares and ads are popping all over her system using an old symantec antivirus. When I installed Nod32 on her system, it cleaned out nearly 40 spywares and her system was good as new again.

I highly recommend it!

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0
is the best all-around antivirus program. It excels at its primary task of preventing viruses. Reviews agree that Kaspersky is better than bestsellers Norton AntiVirus 2007 and McAfee VirusScan Plus 2007 in all aspects. Kaspersky is fast and light; it won't slow your computer as much as the bestsellers

I have been running AVG on my 10 desktop since '03 and have yet had a malware infest one. My computers are on the net 3 to 8 hours a day. My 3 servers run AVG File Server Edition. AVG does not make a free version for servers.
It takes more than just a Antivirus to keep a computer safe.

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

download firefox for free, Just have a try:

Avast. reliable updates, free, a virus has never managed to get by it so far. Better than I can say for 10 others I tried. It requires a key, but it is free to you for home use. Also has a neat starfield screensaver that scans.
