I am going to a Triathlon this weekend - water temp is about 70. I decided to use a wetsuit as it will save energy on my kick. But I haven't decided whether I should wear a sleveless wetsuit or a full wetsuit. Which one will help me swim faster?

If the water is 70 you won't need a wetsuit. You should never try anything new on race day and since you haven't been training in a wetsuit, you shouldn't race in one. The unexpected consequences of new equipment and gear can hinder your race performance.

That being said, if you still want to wear a wetsuit go with the sleeveless. I say this because the time you spend in transition getting the suit off will be less if it is sleeveless. The drag factor is miniscule and speed comes mainly from technique no matter what you are wearing.

On a side note, is this a sprint? If so, I urge you to forget the suit altogether. The time spent in transition for removal is not worth it for a 1/4 mile, especially when the water is 70!

Good luck this weekend!!!

I would probably use a sleeveless. Although it might be a little colder, you still get full advantage of your swim stroke. Also with a full wetsuit it provides more buoyancy. When your buoyant it creates alot more drag when swimming freestyle. Less drag with a sleeveless will help you go that much faster in order to win.
