Colorado is a much likelier location for old communes. I have in-laws that still live there that say there are a few clusters here and there in the more inaccessible mountain areas. Everything else is covered with tourists. Taos, New Mexico might still have a few. Has it occurred to you that most of the young people get out as soon as they are old enough, and that leaves you with a bunch of burnt out freaks that may not be about peace and love anymore? Best wishes to you though. I always thought I should have been one of the Andrew Sisters, so I understand.

There were some smaller ones in Topanga. I do not know if they exist anymore.
But you also might want to try Northern California. The weather is colder, but people are generally more friendly.
Good luck. And if you find any - let me know! I'll join you there! =)

No, you're not too late, I'm sure there are still some communes around, but just be careful, cause you don't want to get into some freaky cult.

um, hippies aren't a good idea. though they share their liberal views of the environment, nature, and enlightenment, they have no true meaning of life, and treat their view as a trend. hippies only make matters worse and dint really make a change in life and only talk about it.
No, there are no more hippies in so cal. If you want to commune and share these values, try Taoism and Buddhism. it brings the individual in society out and will lead you to happiness.
though hippies support this, they don't do it, they make it a trend.
Also, buying a motorcycle is hypocritical
Ive been to san fran and there are barely any hippies

listen, hippies existed for a cause. they were against government corruption. they weren't about just smoking pot and listen to hendrix. find a real cause instead of being a lazy piece of crap!

Do you really feel the urge to have long stringy un-washed hair, bad taste in clothes, worse taste in music, poor hygenic habits, an urge to love the one your with, and the audacity to call Vietnam Vets killers & spit on them? Get off the halucinogenics & have the intelligence to grasp the fact, that a sign, with "I'm a f**king dumbass loser" would suffice.
