What one is taught, and what one learns are 2 different things. Every man and woman thinks for himself. This happens in any form of Government. The question is: Do they think well? The Difference between Democracies and dictatorships is; the man or woman can act and speak for himself or herself in a Democracy.

There may be some truth to that. Now just find me a true democracy. I know of none, and we sure aren't! We are a Representative Republic, as Iraq was a Constitutional Republic, until Saddam! Now it is again, but I think they don't have any control of anything in that government we put into power!

That's why we don't have true democracies.
Conformity is the normity.

Busy little bees and worker ants are more useful than a bunch of individuals who think for themselves. How would anything ever get done after all.

Ghandi was a wise man.

Unfortunately our public education system doesn't teach people to think for themselves anymore. And the truth is the hardest thing to find in this world.

Ghandi got his education (as a barrister, or lawyer) at University College, London.

I am completely in love with Ghandi, lol. Very peaceful demonstrator who fought on his own principles and provided the inspirational template for other great leaders.

i think this quote exemplifies why democracy will never work in some parts of the world, like Iraq for example. some people (i.e. religious fundamentalists) can't be taught to think for themselves.
