They always forget the preemptive strikes and invasions against:
Kosavo
Serbia
haiti
Sudan
done back in the 90's.
Does anyone believe that the voodoo witch doctors in haiti were going to invade america and start casting voodoo spells on us ?
kennedy, did order a premeptice invasion of cuba, during the cuban missile crisis.
The 82nd airborne were in the cargo planes ready to take off, when the word came down, that the russians had backed down.
The 82nd wasn't just on alert, they were actually onboard the air craft at the time.

1) I belive that Kennedy would have.. General Curtis Lemay, Chariman of the Joint Chief of Staffs, was pushing real hard for the preemptive strike.
1b) I highly recommend that you watch "The Fog of War" which is a story/biography/interview with Robert S. McNamara.
McNamara was Secretary of Defense at the time of the Cuban missle crisis, and offers some very interesting insight into how badly it would have turned out had the U.S. launched the strike.
McNamara indicates that, as he discovered later, Cuba already had nuclear missles installed on the island. (other than the ones that the U.S. had the showdown over.)
If the U.S. had launched the strike, the Cubans would have launched a nuke attack on the U.S., and something akin to WW3 would have kicked in, killing many, many millions in a few weeks.
2) Compared to Bush & Iraq? Kennedy was smart (or lucky) enough not to make the mistake of launching a war that would have been far more costly than predicted.
Bush, unfortunately, was not as smart (or lucky) with Iraq.
Maybe Bush should have watched "The Fog of War".
3) Bush hasn't been impeached because most congresspeople are not willing to take the political hit, or waste their time on it. Impeaching Bush would lead to Cheney being the president, which he already, basically, is. So, impeaching Bush would merely be a waste of time.

1 He did order preemptive strikes!
2 Its the same, both acted on intel relevant at that time.
3 He has not been impeached because there is no evidence to support the claim that he manipulated the case for war.
Hind sight is 20/20. The president cant make decisions on the future only the information given to him at the time!

It is rather hard to guess, but Pres. Kennedy would have used diplomacy and negotiation before starting a nuclear war.
2. No comparison at all. Iraq was invaded followed by 4 years of war, for what?
3. It is rather difficult, but there are some movement toward impeachment.

Yes, he would. The Cuban crisis was a real one. But the Iraq thing is just a fabrication or a pretext to go to war. In fact, Osman Ben Laden could have been captured by now, had we concentrated all our forces to Afghanistan instead of going to Iraq.

One BIG difference...surveillance.
they actually confirmed the threat before deciding to take action.
Impeachment wastes a lot of time, spends a lot of money, and accomplishes nothing, as Republicans showed the last one they supported.
