What are the astros going to do?

The Cardinals just hit a walk-off-home-run to win the game aginst the Royals in the bottom of the 14th. Dave Borkowski gave up our lead today against the Angels. Chad Qualls got suspended for 3 games.(Chad lost the game for us there.) Our bullpen bites!!!

We are now 10 games out of 1st place because the brewers keep winning.

Do we need to trade our relievers? Will they start doing better? Will we get into some sort of hitting rythm?

Consider all trades except those that involve Lee, Pence, and Berkman. I know Berkman is in a slump but I know he is the type not to get caught up in that and come out of it. I expect him to have a good second half of the season.

To the person who said Garner would be out of a job, I almost wish that could be true but the Astros are still the organization that is too true to who they have to do anything about it when things go to hell. I think Garner is safe for at least the year.

As soon as Biggio gets his 3,000, he needs to step aside and maybe play 3 of every 7 games instead.

The bullpen needs at least one upgrade in some way. Get rid of TREVER MILLER NOW. The guy throws junk and always has. Other than that, there isn't a whole lot we can but hope we can get someone in the pen very soon. You can't give away an entire bullpen especially when their stock is so slow right now.

Honestly, there are far too many things to list on here and it would take up too much time to elaborate further. I love the Astros and it kills me to see this when they really should be so much better.

Several things need to be done to get this team back on track. First - since Morgan Ensberg appears to be out of the mix at 3B and having him as a reserve would be a waste, management must try to trade him and get young talent. Lance Berkman has been in a season long slump and either must be shaken out of it, benched or traded. I honestly think Phil Garner will not last much longer than the All-Star break. The front office must go out and get a motivator. Unfortunately, Joe Girardi is talking with the Orioles and would have been a good fit for the Astros. Biggio is a good ballplayer, but is aging and can't quite bring it every day. If these changes are not made now, the team will continue to struggle the rest of the season and wholesale changes will occur this winter.

Until Biggio passes 3000 (gotta let him get a little beyond for appearances' sake), this team will just keep chuggin' along.

Purpura needs to find the will to blow it up before 2008 gets here. Players back next year should be limited to Berkman, Oswalt, Lee, and Pence. And sign Clemens just for the attendance boost.

I think what i have thought for the last 2 1/2 years, that phil garner has to go. he doesn't motivate anyone. and they need a kirk gibson like veteran, someone the rest of the team fears and who can convey a sense of urgency. they also need for biggio to go away and take a backup role.
