No that's not true. The ovaries aren't mind readers and if it were true no woman would every have reliable cycles.

Never heard of such a thing. How would the egg know this? Sounds untrue to me.

Nope, cant be true. Otherwise so many women will get pregnant the first time they try!! Maybe im wrong, but i really really dont think so. Timing!

actually it is true. but not in your story. it's not the body, but the mind and hormones. hormones can trigger alot of stuff to happen.
