I'm currently with ampd mobile with a hybrid account but I'm having problems, with their service.
So I'm thinking about switching over to the new Unlimited boost mobile for $55 bucks in southern california, I'm in the coverage area but I wanted to know if anyone is trying this service and if their having any kind problems with it, and is it really only $55 bucks for unlimited minutes if you stay within the coverage area?

I heard about this promotion of Unlimited Boost Mobile in Southern California for $55.00 per month. I read several articles online and there are some facts that most subscribers of this plan don't realize.

First of all to get this plan, you need to purchase a flip phone Motorola C290 for $99.99. This is the only model that works on their unlimited plan. However most people don't realize that this phone doesn't use the Boost mobile network because this phone uses CDMA network and doesn't even have a walkie talkie feature. This phone uses Sprint network and so you are using technically all of Sprint network in your calling area. Remember that Boost Mobile is part of Nextel but since Sprint merged with Nextel, they are now one company. Even though the Motorola C290 cell phone has a logo of Boost Mobile on it just realized that with this unlimited plan you are using Sprint network.

I haven't used Sprint network so I can't comment on their coverage. I do hear that there are many dead spots in southern california though so you might get drop calls once in a while.
