Why does one have to be "worse"? That's pretty negative.
I know people who have met their loves at both places. Personally, I've met some of the creepiest guys I know at church events!
Meeting someone ANYwhere has it's pro's & con's.

Depends--did you go home with that stranger that same night? Both are dangerous, but atleast with meeting someone at the bar you know what they look like and you can get to know them on future dates, if you hit it off conversationally the first time in person. Online, how do you know the person you meet face-to-face is really the same person you chatted with?

Hi, Picking up someone from a bar. You may be picking up an axe murder or someone who would do even something worse to you. At least online they can't get their hands on you. That is my opinions, be safe that sorry. A Friend.

Equal.

They both have their risks. Neither person you really know. One is just words on a screen, the other is just a "pretty/handsome face" and some alcohol is involved.

One should take precautions either way, esp if a female. I can see someone getting into a negative situation whether it's someone they met online or met at a bar.

Depends...meeting online you can get to know a person better, talk more, etc. But you don't REALLY know what to expect.

Meeting someone at the bar you...well, actually meet them. So you know you're not talking to a creep, liar, etc. But at the same time, you're meeting them at a bar- not the best place to find a potential love interest.

Picking up someone in a bar is worse.

Unfortunately, in either situation you are vulnerable. You will only know exactly how much they want you to know about them. The advantage to meeting in a bar I suppose would be that you may be able to read a persons face in a given situation where as in an on line environment you just don't have that luxury.
