i've just recovered my computer to factory settings and now it won't let me install internet 7. i am currently running on service pack 1 but i've used internet 7 on this computer before so i know it has the potential to be compatible. does anyone know what i need to do?

just keep updating and you'll eventually get to sp2. you'll get long lists of what seems to be unnecessary updates but after you have those, sp2 will come up.

Like the previous answerer said, you will need to install Service pack 2 before windows will let you install IE 7

I am assuming that you mean Internet Explorer 7. Go to the Windows Update web site and it should allow you to install it from there. If you do not have SP2, I suggest that you get it. It does correct some flaws in XP that are exploited by hackers.

dont install internet explorer 7..instead install internet explorer 6.!!
